A Framework by Anitha Jagadeesh

Human Value Governance™

Organizations have data governance and model governance. What is largely missing is a governance discipline for protecting the human qualities organizations depend on — the ones AI must never be allowed to replace.

Human Value Governance™ (HVG) is that discipline, developed and published by Anitha Jagadeesh. It defines, protects, and makes auditable six human qualities that are enterprise assets — not soft skills.

01

Empathy

The capacity to recognize the human context behind a transaction and respond to it — not just the process.

02

Moral Judgment

The capacity to make a principled decision when policy is incomplete — weighing values, absorbing ambiguity, and choosing a course a human can defend.

03

Trust

Earned through discretion, presence, and accountability over time. It cannot be generated by a system — only by people.

04

Emotional Presence

The ability to be genuinely present with another person in a high-stakes moment — not simulated, not scripted.

05

Experiential Wisdom

Judgment built through difficulty, failure, and complexity over time — the kind no model can acquire from data alone.

06

Critical Thinking

The capacity to question, challenge, and override a system's output — the faculty governance itself depends on.
